Fall Campout and Monday Pack Meeting

Who’s excited about this weekend!?!?!?

We have a busy weekend coming up and we hope you are getting excited!  First, we have our campout starting on Friday at Cooper Lake State Park at 1690 FM 3505
Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.  We have a lot of fun things planned and look forward to good weather and good fun.  I have added the suggested Packing list below just in case you need it.

Also, our Pack Meeting is this Monday, Oct. 27th at 7pm at First United Methodist.  We will be having a fall carnival when the meeting is over.  Each den is bringing a fun game for the scouts to play and families are asked to bring a bag of candy or prizes to hand out.  Scouts may wear appropriate costumes, no weapons, scary or evil costumes please.

If you have Popcorn money to turn in please bring it to the pack meeting and Tiffany will be accepting any funds you have collected.  Don’t forget our Popcorn orders are due on 11/5 which is the following Wednesday!! We hope you are filling those order forms so your scout can pie a leader in the face!

It is time to start preparing for our 2014 Fall Family Camp out. This year we are going to Cooper Lake State Park – South Sulphur Unit, 1690 FM 3505, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482. It is about 97 miles from Irving. We will be camping October 24th to the 26th. As always we will be having many fun activities planned for the weekend. The cost will be $20.00 per family for the campsite and then $5.00 per person for the cookout on Saturday. In order for me to reserve the correct number of campsites, I would like everyone to sign up on Monday at the Pack meeting. If I reserve too many we have to cancel with a fee, and if I don’t reserve enough we don’t have campsites for everyone. If you would just like to come out for the day on Saturday, that would be fine as well. We will start collecting money for the camp out at the following events coming up before the camp out:

September Pack Hike at Campion Trails 9/27/14 945 to 1000 am.
Pack Service Project – Adopt – A – Spot Clean Up 9/28/14 345 to 400pm at FUMC.
September Pack Meeting 9/29/14 Before and after the meeting that starts at 700 pm. FUMC
Pack Service Project – Church Clean Up 10/12/14 345 to 400 pm at FUMC.

Say the Pledge at City Council Tomorrow

Just a reminder that our Pack has been invited to say the pledge at the City Council Meeting tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 4th at 7:00p. If your scout would like to do this they should meet at 6:45, in uniform, to give your name to Jacob so he can turn it in to be announced. The meeting takes place at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd, Irving, TX 75060, in the Chamber Room as soon as you walk in the doors from the main parking lot.

This is a neat opportunity to meet our City Council members and show a strong scout presence in our city. Hope to see you tomorrow at 6:45p in uniform!

Thanks,
