It turned out to be perfect weather for getting outside and exploring nature! 13 Scouts (plus siblings and adults) came out for our January Pack Hike at Cedar Ridge Preserve. This hike proved to be challenging as it took us across muddy and difficult terrain. Good job everyone! — at Cedar Ridge Natural Reserve.

Fort Worth Nature Center Pack Hike December 2013
It turned out to be great weather for the December Pack Hike at the Fort Worth Nature Center! At 6 miles, this is one of our most challenging hikes. We hiked over prairies and a limestone outcropping, through cross timber forest and a river bottom. We stopped to watch prairie dogs run around and soak up the sun. Thanks to everyone who made it out!

September 2013 Pack Hike
We had a great turnout for our Sept. hike! 21 Scouts, plus siblings and adults, braved the rain and got completely soaked! Unfortunately, we had to cut the hike short due to the threat of lightning, but we still had a great time! Thanks to everyone for weathering the storm! — at Campion Trails Mountain Creek Preserve.
August Night Hike
What do you do when it is too hot to go outside during the daytime? You go out after dark! The August night hike was a lot of fun and even a little spooky! Everyone had a headlamp or flashlight on this 2 mile hike at Cedar Hill State Park. We spotted lots of spiders, including tarantulas and 1 black widow, scorpions (that glow under black light), curious rabbits, blinking fireflies, and a western diamondback rattlesnake! Thanks to everyone who made it out after dark!
